The office was founded by principal Joowhan “Joe” Oh in 2019 after over three decades of practice in structural design and construction management.

About Principal Joowhan “Joe” Oh, S.E.

Joowhan “Joe” Oh brings over 30 years of active practice in the design and construction management of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and heavy timber structures. He has performed the role of project engineer on several notable buildings in Southern California.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the Yon-Sei University School of Engineering in Seoul, South Korea, and his Master’s Degree in Engineering with a speciality in reinforced concrete structures (ductile moment resisting frame) with extensive studies in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Analysis from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

He was a senior project engineer at Erkel/Greenfield & Associates (consulting structural engineers, Los Angeles) and Albert G. Presky & Associates (structural engineers, Los Angeles). Before his time as a senior project engineer, he was a chief structural design engineer at Newman Engineering Co. (Los Angeles).

After private practice from 1989 to 1997, he joined Parsons Corp. and Louis Berger Corp. as a project structural engineer and member of the construction management team for the Incheon International Airport Construction in South Korea. Since then, he has worked with Bechtel Group (USA) as a lead discipline structural engineer on the Hamad (Doha, Qatar) International Airport, the Gabon National Infrastructures Program, and the Jubail Industrial City Project in Saudi Arabia.

He is committed to using his extensive experience, in-depth knowledge, and thorough understanding of the construction industry for the safety, economy, and lifespan of structures, building a safer place to live.
